Okay this is not really a recipe type of blog, but take this as a sort of Advice from me to you.
Well, I am writing this now, in the middle of the night fully awake, fully aware of my state of mine.
And I blame the large glass of Matcha float that I drank a while ago.
Let me paint you a picture of the predicament that I am in, I have a deadline, basically a work deadline that I knew that 8 hours normal worktime will surely not be enough. I tried to focus on the task at hand, cancelled about 2 meetings I was keen on attending, and yet, a las, it was 6pm and I was not even halfway through. And in the typical Australian workplace, most of my colleagues were packing up and saying their farewells. It’s the easter weekend so some of us are starting their weekend early and are even going to fly overseas for some well-deserved break. Anyway, back to me, so the panic is prickling, and the fatigue is creeping up, by 7pm I was the only person in the office. I decided to go out for dinner in a nearby ramen joint, after a nice bowl of hot slurpy goodness, I had the sudden urge for Green Tea or Matcha.
Sidenote: this happens to me often, craving for Matcha.
Anyway, my feet where were already dragging me to where I can get my fix. Before I was even aware of it, I was telling the nice Japanese Lady, “1 Match float” please. I didnt have to look at the menu, I was a regular at this place and I knew what I wanted. In a couple of minutes, I had in my hand my precious MATCHA float, about a size of a Starbucks Grande. And it had Matcha soft serve on top. So, I happily sipped away while i skipped away into the rain, back to my cold crummy office.
Powered by the caffeine, i managed to blast off all the tasks i needed to finish for tomorrow. I look at the clock and it’s 11PM, and yes I’m still at work. I could barely feel the tiredness, the only reason why I know that I’m fatigued is that my hands are feeling tired from scrolling the mouse and me typing. The problem is, i feel like I had just sniffed cocaine, because I’m so very much AWAKE. I really dont know why, i dont know much caffeine Matcha has,but I’m not sleepy at all. It’s now 12:24AM and I’m trying to may be feel tired from writing this.
I am happy about completing the work, and I’m so stressed about not being able to sleep tonight. Tomorrow we’re going to a really long road trip after work, and I really really need to rest.
So this is my advice to whoever is reading this, dont drink Matcha at night.
It has a substantial amount of caffeine, that is keeping me up past midnight.
